SOME HISTORY ABOUT US…
Sunderland Ranch was established over 40 years ago by Wick and Candy Sunderland after purchasing an agricultural parcel sight unseen at a borough auction. Sloan and Katie Sunderland, Wick and Candy’s son and daughter-in-law, took over and expanded into agritourism. AZAP was born from that expansion: zipline plans started in 2020, construction in 2021, and the park opened in early summer 2022. The original 1950s grain farm structures from before the 1964 earthquake are still standing and in use.

350 acres. One of the larger timothy hay producers in the Matanuska Valley. Angus cattle. Trail rides, farm tours, youth ranch camps, the Legacy Mountain Lodge, and Alaska’s only all-tandem zipline — all on the same working property.
They were very responsive to our needs. We got in late after a day at the fair and our room was open and ready for us on our arrival. This was our second time here and we love that it’s quiet and out of town.
We rented all four barn rooms for guests after our wedding and they enjoyed their stay! They thought the rooms were very charming, and a really great value. Katie is very responsive and helpful in her communications, and checked in several times to make sure we had everything we needed.
Our family loved our visit at the Sunderland Ranch. The kids had a great time playing with all the animals and the Sunderland’s were great hosts. We can’t wait to go back.
I highly recommend visiting the AZAP during its season. The trail ride we took after the ziplining was the cherry on top. The horses were highly trained and easy to ride.
Amazing course! Amazing Staff! The course was clean and beautiful! The Staff was so helpful and kind! This is the best zip lining course in Alaska!
First time ziplining for me and my son’s. Had a bit of nervousness & excitement. All of the beauty helped. The guides, Tristan, Noah & Denali made it feel safe and enjoyable. I felt like getting right back in line for another go!
It was a very fun experience to have fun with family and getting an adrenaline rush! Would highly recommend to try it once in your life!
The zipping was amazing, the dogs were cute and I loved the view. The youth I brought said they had tons of fun zipping through the trees and the staff that helped us were super nice. We loved how they showed us how to do everything and had such positive energy
What a great adventure! I was apprehensive about launching myself off a high platform and over deep canyons, but the professionalism and confidence of the guides helped me push my boundaries! The scenery is breathtaking.
Wonderful experience for our group! The guides took the time to know our names and show us the ropes! We had a blast! Recommend 100% doing this!
