Trail rides depart from the Sunderland Ranch barn. Guides, who know every trail, share the region’s history and wildlife as guests ride through fields, forests, and creek crossings. Guests may spot moose, bald eagles, and cattle grazing along the way.

How long does the ride take?
Most rides last between 1.5 to 4 hours, however overnight trips are available.
What should I wear?
Closed-toed shoes or boots. Comfortable clothes. Bring an extra layer, it can be cool on the mountain.
What safety equipment is needed?
Helmets are mandatory for riders under 18; these can be provided by Sunderland Ranch. Adults may sign a waiver to ride without.

I highly recommend visiting the AZAP during its season. The trail ride we took after the ziplining was the cherry on top. The horses were highly trained and easy to ride.
Great trail ride, Drew was experienced and shared many fun information about Alaska. We saw a moose on our ride and many beautiful views!

They are exceptional and my favorite trail ride I have been on in Alaska. Drew was a fantastic guide, the mountains were beautiful and the trail explores a hidden piece of Alaska you wouldn’t experience otherwise. If you’re considering a trail ride, book it! We took a horseback and mule ride into the mountains and camped out for three days. We really enjoyed it. It was very beautiful in our gods were really good at what they did and we’re very nice. We would recommend the horseback ride camping in the mountains to anybody.
